About Madh Island

Located in the north-western part of Mumbai, about 30 km from the city, Madh Island is home to lush green farmlands and fishing villages. Bordered by Malad Creek on the eastern side and the Arabian Sea on the west, the island is as quaint as it can get. Over the last decade, it has gained much popularity among travelers as a weekend destination. The island has also been featured in Bollywood movies like Baazigar and Khalnayak, which has added to its popularity. The sandy shores on the island are known for the beach parties and techno raves they host. Some of the best resorts and hotels in Mumbai are located on this island, offering travelers a break from the hustle and bustle of the city.

Shopping and Dining in and around Madh Island

Madh Island is primarily a retreat and party destination, so the shopping options here are limited. Unlike other neighborhoods in Mumbai, there aren’t any high-end malls or shopping places on Madh Island. However, you can find a good number of general stores that sell all the essential items. The nearest shopping malls are located in Malad, which is about 12 km away from the island.

Like all other beach holiday destinations, the island is best known for its seafood. Café Laguna, Bollywood Stars, Dariya Kinara Family Restaurant, Tangerine Café - The Retreat, and High Tide -The Resort are the major restaurants on Madh Island. Places to Visit in and around Madh Island

Madh Fort, built in the 17th century by the Portuguese, counts among the top tourist attractions on the island. Other beaches on the island include Erangal Beach (2 km), Aksa Beach (5 km), and Marve Beach (8 km). How to Reach Madh Island

The international airport in Mumbai is about 25 km from the island.     "I had a very disappointing experience during my stay at FabExpress Deluxe Comfort. Despite arriving well past the check-in time of 11 AM (at 2 PM), the room was not ready, and the staff only began cleaning it after our arrival. The room allotted to us was far below acceptable standards. It was very small, poorly maintained, and had a strong, unpleasant odor of water seepage and smoke. The bed linens were old, stained, and far from clean, while the bath towels provided were in a similar unhygienic state. The bathroom ceiling was dripping continuously, creating a damp environment and an unbearable smell. If I could give a negative rating, I certainly would. Moreover, the room lacked proper ventilation and was nothing like the photos displayed on the website. To make matters worse, we discovered a dead cockroach under the bed, which was extremely off-putting. Overall, this was one of the most unpleasant stays I have ever experienced. I would not recommend FabExpress Deluxe Comfort to anyone looking for a clean and comfortable stay."
