Dharavi is one of the unique places in Mumbai that many tourists, especially international travellers, wish to explore as it represents a completely different side of the city, far from the glitz and glam. It is considered to be the largest slum in the world, with an area of approx. 520 acres and a population of more than a million. Truly a city within a city, Dharavi is home to a large number of thriving small-scale industries producing textiles, pottery, recycled goods, leather goods, etc. that are sold in India as well as overseas. Owing to the relevance of this neighbourhood among both leisure and business travellers, there are several budget hotels near Dharavi offering a comfortable accommodation.
Dharavi is home to the world’s largest leather market and thus, it is a must for travellers to explore the myriad shops in the area for backpacks, bags, wallets, belts, jackets and more. Besides Dharavi Leather Market, people staying at hotels in Mumbai nearby can visit Gandhi Market (2.5 km), Linking Road (5.6 km) and Dadar Market (6 km). Popular malls within half an hour include Link Square Mall (6 km), High Street Phoenix (7.5 km), Palladium Mall (7.7 km) and Phoenix Marketcity (8.4 km). Best restaurants in and around the neighbourhood include New Bismillah Restaurant, Gurukripa, Hotel Theresa, Rehmat Restaurant, Seven Sevens, Ram Ashraya and Hardeep Punjab. Café Madras, Central Peninsula, Icy Spicy, Peninsula, Modern Lunch Home and Hanuman are other popular options.
Along with the slum tour, travellers can include several tourist attractions close to Dharavi hotels in their itinerary to make the most of their Mumbai trip. Popular sightseeing places that are less than a 30-minute drive from the area are Mahim Fort, Prabhadevi Beach, Worli Fort, Bandra Worli Sea Link, Basilica of Our Lady of the Mount, Bandra Fort, Sewri Fort, Sion Fort and Siddhivinayak Temple.
Both Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport and Lokmanya Tilak Terminus are approximately 9 km from Dharavi and offer easy access to the area by buses, taxis and auto rickshaws. By local, travellers can take the train to Mahim (3.7 km), exit from the west and cross the bridge to reach Dharavi.
Staff is very helpful and very polite. Rooms are clean and good. Overall a good stay!
Big comfortable room in silence . Exelent and carry staff. I feel like home. Thanks
Comfortable rooms. Great service as is always the case. The staff takes good care to check if you are comfortable. Good food
Staff very helpful. Room and beds was very comfortable . Breakfast was very good.
I stayed at FabHotels 7 Square, BKC for a day (9th10th April) and had a largely positive experience. Pros: Spacious, elegant rooms with a pleasing ambiencevery comfortable for a short stay. Exceptional service: Supervisors, managers, and staff were extremely helpful and ensured seamless hospitality. Cons: Terrible location: Hard to access and inconvenient. Restaurant issue: As a vegetarian, I was uncomfortable dining in-house since they use the same vessels for veg and non-veg food. TV malfunction: Took 30 minutes to replace the set-top box after check-in. Missing essentials: Only one towel and soap were provided for a couplehad to request extras. No tea/coffee maker in the room; had to order at extra cost before 8 AM for breakfast. Verdict: A good, comfortable stay with minor service gaps. Ideal if you prioritize room quality over location.
Your staff were well trained, helpful & friendly. The hotel exceeded our expectations.
The room was too small, washroom was soo small, cant even wash your hand in the washbasin that and required some dusting. Apart from that everything was decent
I have checked in at 13th morning 5.30 am. But they informed we have alloted the Room to another person since you have not checked in within 6 hours. Further arguments with receptionist they have allotted single bedroom which is already occupied by a person. Very horrible moment which I experienced along with my family.
Just as worst as every experience with fab hotels, the hotel is in a terrible locality, the pictures shown are not accurate at all. The rooms are small and the beds are dirty, they provided one pillow for 2 people, no water in the room, all in all a pathetic experience. Fab hotels is a scam business. Deleting this app and never booking again
Room size is not proper. I have booked four rooms for 8 eight guest. Stairs has given a feel of rock climbing. Property not responded to make my trip people to resolve my issue.
