Gandipet, located in the outskirts of Hyderabad, is a village in the district of Ranga Reddy in Telangana. This name is more popularly used to refer to the reservoir – Osman Sagar – which was formed by damming the Musi River during the rule of Mir Osman Ali Khan, the last Nizam of Hyderabad State. Besides, this place is home to the MRO Office of Gandipet Mandal, Mahatma Gandhi Institute of Technology, Chaitanya Bharathi Institute of Technology, several residential and commercial complexes, parks, restaurants, and Hyderabad hotels.

Besides, the main railhead Hyderabad Deccan Railway Station (HYB), also known as Nampally Railway Station, is 19.8 km away from Gandipet. Furthermore, this place is located at a distance of 26.1 km from Rajiv Gandhi International Airport, which can be covered in around 30-40 minutes via Nehru Outer Ring Road. Gandipet can also be accessed via Shankarpalli-Hyderabad Road.
