About Ponda

Ponda (or Fonda as it is called in Konkani) is a city in the district of South Goa, about 30 km southeast of Panaji, the state capital. It is popular as the ‘Hindu heart of Goa’ as there are many temples in and around the area. Besides, there are some age-old churches here along with the state’s largest mosque. Ponda is also known as Antruz Mahal owing to its rich cultural heritage. Another reason why travellers visit Ponda is that it is the gateway to Goa’s wildlife sanctuaries and Dudhsagar Falls.

Today, this city is frequented by business travellers as well, as it an industrial centre of Goa with many estates and large factories nearby. There are a number of schools and prominent colleges in and around the area like Goa Engineering College (GEC), National Institute of Technology (NIT), Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), National Institute of Construction Management and Research (NICMAR) and others.     "1).Eventhough I informed the Fab Hotel ph.No. 7042424242 and agreed in phone for early checkin (gobibo avialable mobile no), the Hotel receptionist not accepted my early check in. The fab hotels customer care said that you have no problem for one hour early checkin, but the hotel receptionist said that we have no rooms. Eventhough the fab hotels customer care personal talked with the receptionist they are not allotted the room untill checkin time. After one hour waiting in the lobby, hotel receptionist privided the room at 11-50 AM. 2). We stayed for 2 days and provided only one water bottle. For the extra water bottle they charged 32 rupees, eventhough the MRP is 20/-. 3. The Room is Satisfactory. I am giving this rating for the hotel mangement and hosiptality only."

    "Rooms are super compact just a bed and 1 feet gap.service is good but major issue with the management and hospitality policy.even though I was staying there for last 9 days they asked me do check out as their room got online booking.In no where I have seen such stupidity where guest were asked to do check out horrible place.nearby so many good hotels are there at cheaper price and bathroom equal to the room of Shakti palace."

Although full payment was done for two nights, Hotel owner was kind enough to refund one night stay as we had to check out into another hotel. Such guest centric helpful attitude is truly appreciated"
