There are some important places to visit in Chennai near Sholinghur. As you get down at Sholinghur bus station, you can see the burial ground (2.2 km) for the soldiers of Tipu Sultan’s army who were killed during the Anglo Mysore war. The pond where Lord Indra is said to have taken a dip and prayed to Lord Narasimha is an important place to visit in Sholinghur; it is known as Thakkan (2.8 km). You can also visit the Yoga Anjaneyar Temple (5.1 km), a temple dedicated to Lord Hanuman and is situated on a small hillock. You need to take a flight of 400 stairs to reach this temple. However, the most important and popular sight in Sholinghur is the Shri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy Temple (5.8 km).

Sholinghur is situated at a distance of about 120 km from Chennai and 54 km from Vellore. So, you can visit Sholinghur by bus or car from Chennai, Vellore, Poonamalee, Arakkonam, Thiruvallur, Tiruttani, etc. There are some hotels near Sholinghur, Chennai, but there are not many of them in proper Sholinghur. You can get budget hotels as well as 3 star hotels in nearby areas. The town also has a railway station (14.6 km) from where you can take a taxi, rickshaw or bus to reach Sholinghur.
