Trinesvaraswamy Temple, Mysore

Trinesvaraswamy Temple

The Trinesvaraswamy Temple is situated within the Mysore Palace Complex facing the Mysore Fort. The beautiful temple showcases spectacular Dravidian-style architecture. It is dedicated to Trinesvara, the three-eyed Lord Shiva. The gopuram of this shrine was destroyed in the 18th century, but was renovated by the Mysore Maharajas, and now bears the legacy of their cultural glory. The temple is one of the best Mysore places to visit, especially during Shivaratri celebrations when pilgrims gather to offer special prayers.
