The month of February is here and no, we aren’t going to talk about Valentine’s. We feel you, singles. So while the whole world goes out to burn their pocket for Valentine’s celebrations, you save a little of yours for an event that starts four days after the day of love. Agra is known for its architectural marvel, Taj Mahal and nearly everyone has been here to witness its beauty. But to experience the vibrancy of the Taj Mahotsav is an altogether different thing. And you must be here this time of the year to take in the slice of Agra of the olden times.
What?
So what is the whole fuss about Taj Mahotsav? This fest covers the culture, art, craft and cuisine of the nation. It brings all forms of artists into prominence. It is a sheer delight to watch different forms of artefacts, music, dance and food on a single platform. Watch some soul stirring performances by artists from as far as Odisha, purchase the exquisite paper mash work of Kashmir, eat scrumptious cuisine from different states of India and last but not the least, enjoy a number of rides at the Fun Fair, all at one place.
When?
A ten day annual event, Taj Mahotsav shall begin from 18th of February and will go on till 27th February 2020.
Where?
The event takes place at Shilpgram located just 500m from the Taj Mahal. If we go by history, the area around the Taj used to be a bustling market place full of artisans selling their craft. This fest is an attempt to capture the essence of the yesteryears.
