So before you plan your travel, make sure to check the complete guidelines of the city you are travelling to for a hassle-free experience. Though we timely update this blog, state regulations are subject to change and hence, we request readers to also visit the state government website for any latest changes. 

State-Wise Travel Guidelines

1. Delhi

  • Thermal screening is compulsory for all passengers.
  • Passengers arriving from cities where there are high number of COVID cases might have to undergo COVID testing. Those found positive will be quarantined at home or a hospital for 10 days.
  • It is mandatory for everyone to wear face masks (even within a car).
  • Aarogya Setu app. is a must.
  • Flight operations remain unaffected. Please check airline guidelines before travelling.
  • International travellers must check the Delhi government’s guidelines on registration, quarantine and testing protocols on the official website.

2. Maharashtra

  • Aarogya Setu app. is a must.
  • Flight operations remain unaffected. Please check the latest state guidelines before travelling.
  • Thermal screening will be done for all passengers.
  • Travellers landing in Maharashtra must carry a negative RT-PCR test report, taken within 72 hours before arrival.
  • Those who have taken both the COVID vaccine doses shall be exempted from pre-departure RT-PCR test requirement.
  • Symptomatic passengers will be sent to nearest COVID Care Center
  • International travellers entering the state must check state government’s guidelines on the official website.

3. Uttar Pradesh

  • Aarogya Setu app. is a must.
  • All passengers must go through thermal screening.
  • All travellers coming via flight must register themselves here.
  • Passengers coming to Uttar Pradesh should possess an RT-PCR negative report of not older than 72 hours or the final certificate of COVID vaccination (i.e., two doses complete). Also, the second dose should have surpassed 15 days timeline.
  • Symptomatic passengers from Kerala and Maharashtra shall be required to undergo 14 days home quarantine.
  • Travellers to Agra must undergo a test upon arrival, even if carrying a negative RT-PCR test.
  • International travellers entering the state must check government guidelines on registration, quarantine and testing protocols on the official website.

4. Karnataka

  • Download and update the Aarogya Setu app.
  • All travellers from Maharashtra and Kerela (irrespective of their vaccination status) should produce RT-PCR negative certificate of not older than 72 hours. Constitutional functionaries and healthcare professionals are exempted from this.
  • All passengers must undergo thermal screening.
  • International travellers entering the state must check government-issued guidelines on the official website.

5. Kerala

  • Aarogya Setu app and thermal screening are a must.
  • Register on https://covid19jagratha.kerala.nic.in/ to obtain an e-pass.
  • All travellers must carry a negative COVID-19 test issued not earlier than 72 hours before entering the state.
  • Mandatory home quarantine of 14 days for all those who do not carry a negative test report and are not willing to undergo a test upon arrival.
  • The same is not applicable for travellers heading to Kannur.
  • Passengers visiting Kerala for a short period must carry a negative RT-PCR test report issued within 48 hours before arrival. They must also take an entry pass for a short visit from the COVID Jagratha portal.
  • Passengers heading to Calicut must undergo a test on arrival and shall remain under home or institutional quarantine till the test result is awaited.

6. Rajasthan 

  • Aarogya Setu app. is a must.
  • Thermal screening is mandatory for all travellers.
  • Passengers arriving from other states have to carry a COVID negative test report conducted within 72 hours of arrival in Rajasthan. 
  • Those travelling to Udaipur are required to upload their negative RT-PCR report here.
  • Those without negative a COVID-19 report must undergo 15 days of home/institutional quarantine.

7. Himachal Pradesh

  • RT-PCR test report is NOT required to enter Himachal Pradesh.
  • Aarogya Setu app. is a must.
  • Thermal screening is mandatory for all travellers.
  • Travellers to the state must register on the HP government portal before the journey.

8. Uttarakhand

  • Install and update the Aarogya Setu app.
  • All passengers must go through thermal screening.
  • Passengers must carry a COVID negative test report, conducted within 72 hours before departure.
  • Travellers having final vaccination certificate (i.e., those who have taken both doses) and completed 15 days from the receipt of the second dose shall be exempted from pre-departure test requirement.
  • All passengers to Uttarakhand are required to register on state website.  

9. Goa

  • Aarogya Setu app. is a must.
  • Asymptomatic domestic travellers do not have to quarantine.
  • All passengers travelling to Goa must carry a negative RT-PCR/TrueNAT/CBNAAT/RAT certificate (with a sample taken within 72 hours before arrival) or a complete COVID vaccination certificate (both doses done).

10. West Bengal

  • Download and update the Sandhane app. and Aarogya Setu app.
  • The lockdown is in effect, however, flight operations remain unaffected.
  • All flight passengers must carry a negative COVID-19 test report, conducted within 72 hours before flight departure. An exception to children below 2 years, anyone travelling due to the demise of a family member (they must however take a self-paid test on arrival) and transit passengers.
  • Anyone travelling without a negative RT-PCR report must undergo 14 days of institutional quarantine at their own expense.

11. Punjab

  • Download and update the Aarogya Setu app.
  • All travellers to Punjab must register on COVA Punjab app before commencing their journey.
  • Lockdown is still in effect so please check the latest state guidelines before travelling.
  • Travellers must produce a vaccination certificate (at least 1 dose) over 2 weeks old or a negative RT-PCR test report conducted within 72 hours before departure.
  • International travellers will have to undergo RAT (Rapid Antigen Test) at the airport, in case they do not have a negative RT-PCR test report. Thereafter, passengers must undergo 7 days home quarantine.

12. Gujarat

    • Aarogya Setu app is a must.
    • Travellers to Surat, please check the latest government guidelines
    • All passengers arriving in Surat must download the ‘SMC COVID-19 Tracker’app, fill the ‘Novel Corona Self-reporting Form’ and carry a negative RT-PCR test.
    • RT-PCR test is NOT required for those landing at other airports in Gujarat.
    • For travellers landing in Ahmedabad, thermal screening will be must & in case of symptoms one must undergo a self-paid RT-PCR test.

13. Madhya Pradesh

  • Travellers must download the Aarogya Setu app.
  • Those travelling to Indore must install the Indore 311 app, and register themselves before arrival and consistently update their health status for 14 days.
  • Passengers coming only from Maharashtra must carry a negative COVID-19 test report, conducted within 48 hours before commencement of the journey. Those travelling without a report must take a self-paid test upon arrival at the airport and undergo institutional quarantine till the result is out.
  • Passengers from Maharashtra to Bhopal must carry a negative COVID-19 report, conducted within 72 hours before arrival. Symptomatic passengers must undergo a test on arrival at the Bhopal airport and self-isolate till the result is awaited.
  • RT-PCR test is NOT mandatory for travellers coming from other states.
  • If the test result is positive, passengers will be sent to a COVID Care Centre and undergo re-test followed by quarantine as advised by the authorities.
  • If the result is negative, quarantine is not required.
  • Those on a short business trip (less than 3 days) do not have to quarantine. They must give their travel details to the airport officials.

14. Andhara Pradesh

  • Aarogya Setu app is a must.
  • All passengers must register themselves on the Spandana 
  • RT-PCR test report is NOT required to enter the state.
  • Domestic passengers do not need to quarantine.

15. Odisha

  1. Download and update the Aarogya Setu App.
  2. Travellers entering Odisha must register here.
  3. All passengers coming to Odisha must either carry a valid vaccination certificate (both doses done) or carry a negative test report (RT-PCR) conducted within 48 hours before arrival.
  4. Anyone without a valid test report or a valid vaccination certificate must undergo 7 days of quarantine.
