The largest bird sanctuary in Karnataka, the facility comprises six small islands situated on the banks of the Kaveri River. The sanctuary is home to nearly 170 bird species, and some have been brought from Australia, Siberia, and North America. The Asian Openbill Stork, Woolly-necked Stork, Painted Stork, Black-headed Ibis, and Common Spoonbill are among the star attractions of this sanctuary. You can also spot small animals such as the Indian grey mongoose, common palm civet, and monitor lizard.
