1. Colaba Social, Mumbai
Bringing in freshness to nightlife across metros, Social is by far one of the best places to hangout if you are looking for good music, great food and an exciting selection of cocktails. Social at Colaba is our favorite, though we have heard wonderful things about the one at Khar as well and suggest you give that a go as well.
The food at Social is served in extremely cute tiffin boxes or cone shaped utensils and while the whole concept may seem old school, it’s heartwarming. The interiors at all Social outlets are fun and give you the impression of not trying too hard. On some nights here, the music may not be what you enjoy (EDM, House) but they mostly play a mix of genres, which is great. Do try their LIIT and fish fingers.
- Location: Apollo Bandar, Colaba
- Cost for two: Rs. 1400
2. The Bombay Bronx, Mumbai
To be honest, the Bombay Bronx is on this list because their food is exceptional! With a cheerful ambience and thoughtfully done interiors depicting the vibe of Mumbai, TBB is a regular for most Mumbaikers. The margarita pizza here is outstanding as is the vada pao which goes perfectly with the watermelon martini. However, do ask their very courteous staff for suggestions on the cocktail menu as you’ll be in for a surprise.
- Location: Bhulabhai Desai Road, Breach Candy
- Cost for two: Rs. 1500

3. House of Nomad, Mumbai
Located at Taj Lands End, House of Nomad is such a pleasant experience! For its tastefully done interiors, charming ambience and outstanding food – if this one is a little heavy on the pocket, it’s worth it!
What is interesting is that they change their cocktails menu every six months which is great for regulars as they are in for a treat at least twice in a year! While House of Nomad is definitely on the higher side, it’s not as expensive as one would assume. Do try their sea-food menu as it’s absolutely delicious!
- Location: Byramji Jeejeebhoy Road, Bandra West
- Cost for two: Rs. 1500
4. The Ghetto, Mumbai
If you are looking for an easy, laidback night, Ghetto tops the list! With Bob Marley paraphernalia dominating the ambience, it’s a great place for mid-week drinks with a game of pool and few beers. Do try their finger food especially the nachos and french-fries.
If you happen to visit this place more than twice, chances are you’ll bump into regulars.
- Location: Bhulabhai Desai Marg, Breach Candy, Mahalakshmi
- Cost for two: Rs. 1400

5. Doolally Taproom, Mumbai
One of the best brewpubs in Mumbai, Doolally is what most beer drinkers prefer over some of the other popular pubs in the area simply because of its laidback vibe. Minimalistic interiors, easy ambience, wide range of beers and delicious food is what one needs to make the midweek blues disappear and that’s exactly what Doolally gives.
Their courteous staff makes the experience a wee bit better especially since they are so well-informed and by your second visit, they almost recognize you. If you are looking to party, this may not be the best choice since their vibe is more easygoing and relaxed than it is peppy.
- Location: Khar West
- Cost for two: Rs. 2500
6. Lord of the Drinks, Mumbai
Slowly gaining popularity as one of the best places to hang out during weekends, LOD has to be on your list if you’d like to experience Mumbai’s nightlife. Their cocktail menu is quite interesting owing to the unique names given to them as is the food menu with Chettinad prawns, risotto and basil garlic stuff mushroom completely winning the evening. Also, in cocktails you must try Basiloco, Mumbai Mayhem and Moscow Mule.
- Location: Lower Parel
- Cost for two: Rs. 1500
7. Butterfly High, Mumbai
Bright, cheerful interiors and a welcoming vibe make Butterfly High a great option for a drink or two, especially when you aren’t in the mood for a mad, dancing night. I have been here twice and the place is generally packed with people chatting over the soothing music (yes, their music collection is quite great). Surprisingly their Indian cuisine is yum and is a must try! In fact, you can go slow on the finger food and concentrate on the main course.
- Location: Bandra Kurla Complex
- Cost for two: Rs. 1000
8. Monkey Bar, Mumbai
If you have heard about Monkey Bar, chances are that you would have heard great things. The music here is addictive, the food even better and of course their selection of cocktails is a delight along with one of the best outdoor seating options. Serving a variety of cuisines from Mexican to Italian, you must try their Nasi Goreng, Curried akuri with malabari parantha and the Railway Masala Omlette (unusual choice but you won’t regret it). Most people swear by Monkey Bar as irrespective of the day of the week, the pub promises a great time.
- Location: Linking Road, Bandra West
- Cost for two: Rs. 1800
9. Verbena, Mumbai
Sometimes it’s the food that takes you to a place and sometimes it’s the ambience – Verbena is definitely more about the latter. Enveloped in greenery with tastefully done interiors, if you are looking for a break from the chaos of the city, this is your place. May be pubs in Andheri will help you.
Perfect for a Sunday brunch or a quiet weekday, the pub has more of a lounge feel to it with tons of great food options but it had to be on this list simply because of its vibe. Everyone who visits here has something great to say about the bartenders and the serving staff and rightly so; they are informed, helpful and know exactly what you should choose. Do try the Wok tossed winglets and the pastas.
- Location: Kamala Mills Compound, Lower Parel
- Cost for two: Rs. 2000
10. Cult, Mumbai
Located in Peninsula Grand Hotel in Mumbai, Cult has everything one needs for a great night out. From the music to the drinks to the ambience – everything works in favor of this very happening pub. It sees a steady influx of office goers and so the vibe is generally very relaxed and laidback. Their food is of course exceptional and is a crowd puller even for non-drinkers.
Also, if you are in the mood to shake a leg while enjoying your evening, their dance floor is quite inviting and is perhaps one of the most spacious in Mumbai. Do try their butter garlic chilli chicken, the Quattro stagioni pizza and Farfelle pasta (the best).
- Location: Sakinaka
- Cost for two: Rs. 2100
