A clean and plastic-free India is everyone’s dream. And that is why this 2nd October, FabHotels did its bit for the environment by supporting the country-wide IndiaPlogRun – an event organized by the United Way of India in collaboration with prominent names like Pepsico & Airbnb. Honouring the legacy of Mahatma and the PM – Narendra Modi’s Swachh Bharat Abhiyan scheme, the event aimed to motivate citizens to work for the best of fitness and environment conservation to keep the neighbourhoods devoid of plastic. Around 1 lakh people participated in the event conducted at 85 Fab properties in 35 cities including Delhi, Bangalore and Ahmedabad. The event was supported by the Ministry of Home and Urban Affairs and the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP).
India Plog Run 2019
IndiaPlogRun 2019 was designed to create awareness and fight the accumulation of plastic waste in India. Plogging, which refers to picking up litter while jogging, combines fitness with environmental conservation. According to Vaibhav Aggarwal, Founder & CEO of FabHotels, “It is a movement to sensitize individuals about plastic use by focusing on the prevention of accumulation of waste and recycling it. We are proud to have partnered with a national event of this scale.”
Registration for the run was free and participants were provided with safety gloves, aprons and garbage bags. All the trash collected was segregated and sent for recycling. The event, started with on-the-spot warm up, also aimed at educating participants on plastic waste disposal.
