Rapid Metro is the second metro system serving Gurgaon; the Yellow Line of Delhi Metro also passes through the city. Infrastructure Leasing & Financial Services Limited (IL&FS) had built this line, making it the world’s first metro system to be completely privately financed and constructed. But, the operations have now been taken up by Delhi Metro Rail Corporation for lack of funds with IL&FS to manage the services. In the first phase, the line was built as a loop around DLF Cyber City, while in the next phase, it went deeper into the city in a southward direction. The system uses 1435 mm tracks, 750 V direct current via third rail and three-coach trains.
