- Overhead wires, carrying 25-kilovolt alternating current, and 1435 mm (standard gauge) tracks are used on the line.
- Chennai Metro Rail Authority has decided to introduce driverless metro trains in the Phase II project. The first driverless Chennai Metro service is expected to be launched in 2026.
- As per the reports released by metro officials, Chennai Metro Rail Limited has planned to purchase 138 three-coach driverless metro trains in the Rs.61,843 crore worth Phase II project.
