Change in the Operations of Terminals at Mumbai Airport

Keeping in mind the convenience of passengers, GVK-led Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (CSMIA) in Mumbai will be merging the operations of Terminals 1 & 2 starting from October 1, 2019. Post the change in current structure, IndiGo and GoAir will shift the operations of domestic flights to T1 and international flights to T2 while SpiceJet will move its full operation to T2. This will also benefit the airlines at large by streamlining their domestic and international operations.

The press release shared by the Mumbai airport revealed that T1 has been allocated as the terminal boarding bridge for all domestic operations. T2, on the other hand, will continue to operate flights to both domestic and international destinations. Currently, CSMIA is serviced by 50 international and 9 domestic airlines with the primary runway handling more than 46 arrivals and departures on hourly basis. The second runway at the airport can accommodate 35 flight movements every hour.
