It is believed that Marundeeswarar Temple, where Lord Shiva is worshipped as the God of Medicines, relieves people of their health issues. The current structure of the temple was built by Chola kings in the 9th century and later expanded by the rulers of the Vijayanagar Empire. Adorned with two huge seven-tiered gateway towers, the spellbinding temple exhibits the Dravidian style of architecture.
